Armando Gallo (Venice 1944) is an Italian photojournalist living in Los Angeles now covering the movie scene there. In 1967, while working in London as an architectural designer, he met The Beatles and that started his career as a rock journalist. He wrote about Genesis for the Italian rock weekly “Ciao 2001” in 1970 and he authored their biography 'The Evolution of a Rock Band' originally published in the UK in 1978. Inspired by the Peter Gabriel song 'DIY', Armando self published the book in the USA as 'I Know What I Like' under his DIY Books imprint. Armando directed and produced the U2 video 'Even Better than the Real Thing' using mostly still photos.
He has been a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, producers of the Golden Globe Award, for the past 30 years.
